🤝 Purpose Over Perks: A Great Place to Work survey of 1.3M+ employees finds meaningful work is the top retention driver. Employees who feel their job has “special meaning” are nearly 4× more likely to stay than those who do not, far outweighing the effect of pay or unique benefits. Source.
🎪 Major Tradeshow: Save the date: PPAI Expo 2026 hits Las Vegas Jan 12–15. It’s the industry’s biggest post-holiday trade show and the best place to kick off 2026 with fresh ideas. Source.
📈 Promo Sales Surge: North American promotional product distributor sales jumped 5% in Q3 year-over-year, the largest quarterly gain in over two years, as clients finally moved forward with projects stalled by summer trade uncertainty. Source.
🎃 Halloween Fun Fact: Halloween is the U.S.’s 2nd-largest consumer holiday after Christmas, with Americans spending ~$6.9 billion on costumes, candy, and parties each year. That translates to roughly 600 million pounds of candy, about the weight of six Titanic ships, gobbled up at the end of October. Source.

Birthday Joy
A few weeks ago, we celebrated Ryleigh’s 7th birthday. The yard was filled with family, friends, a bounce house, pirates, mermaids, and way too many treats. But what I’ll remember most wasn’t the decorations or the sugar rush, it was Ryleigh's pure, unfiltered joy.

For weeks leading up to the big day, she’d ask, “How many more days until my birthday party?” The night before, she could hardly fall asleep. The next morning, she was right beside me, helping carry chairs and set up tables, smiling the entire time. During the party, her laughter echoed across the yard. And when it came time to open presents, she shouted with excitement after every single one, like each gift was the best thing she’d ever received.

Watching her, I couldn’t help but think about how somewhere along the way, we lose that spark. That childlike wonder. We start treating birthdays like just another day, when really, they’re a reminder that we’re still here, still growing, still loved, still surrounded by people who care about us.
My birthday is in November, and this year, I’m taking a page from Ryleigh’s book. I want to feel that same excitement she did, to wake up with gratitude, to laugh without holding back, to let joy take over. Because if she’s taught me anything, it’s that happiness isn’t something we outgrow, it’s something we forget to practice.
So this year, I’m celebrating. I’m choosing joy. And I’m giving thanks for the little girl who reminded me what that looks like. Thank you, Ryleigh. I love you.
